Ensembles - Wind Ensemble
The Blake Wind Ensemble is the premier Band Ensemble at Blake High School, and one of the top rated concert bands in the State. The Wind Ensemble has consistently recieved a Superior rating at FBA State Assessment. The Wind Ensemble also won the top position of 'Grand Champion' at the Chicago International Band & Orchestra Festival last year, has been invited to and performed at the Disney Honors Wind Ensemble Festival, participated in the San Francisco Wind Ensemble invitational, has been invited to and performed at the elite Bands of America Concert Band Festival, and has performed numerous concerts around Hillsborough County and the State.
This top rated ensemble consistently plays upper-level music in the grade 5-6 range. The class focuses on tone, air control, phrasing, dynamics, balance, blend, solo and chamber music, how to work as an ensemble and leadership.The requirements for the class are included in our band handbook. All students are expected to audition for All-State and All-County, participate in FBA Solo & Ensemble Festival, attend all rehearsals and concerts, and show an attitude of pride, dedication, leadership and humility during and at all band functions.
